The Purchasing Assistant will provide support to vendors, Ameritex construction and fellow purchasing team members as those teams work together to manage the working relationships between all parties. This individual should demonstrate a strong analytical ability and aptitude for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in residential construction.

 

Tasks

  • Provides customer service to vendors with questions about their outstanding/past due balances
  • Performs research on outstanding or unpaid POs and determines cause for outstanding/unpaid POs
  • Provides feedback to Purchasing team on research findings and action steps for addressing outstanding/unpaid POs
  • Supports Purchasing Coordinators in creating job start purchase orders and variance purchase orders for residential construction 
  • Supports Purchasing Coordinators in bidding new plans and plan revisions
  • Assists with quarterly rebate tracking
  • Assists in maintaining master trade partners list
  • Enters pricing and unit quantity data into the purchase order system
  • Updates lot check budgets provided by Construction
  • Process change of vendor requests approved by Purchasing
  • Maintains data in the purchase order system
  • Interacts and engages with vendors in order to present and explain pricing, products, and services
  • Supports Purchasing Coordinators and Managers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Abilities

  • Basic working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures
  • Must have basic knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Hyphen BRIX/BuildPro experience preferred

 

Skills and Abilities 

  • Extremely well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Attention to detail and persistence in follow-up
  • Basic computer skills

 

Education & Experience 

  • High school Diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience in purchasing: Home Building preferred
