Construction Coordinator

Manage electronic schedules for all homes: 

  • Process all schedule changes in electronic scheduling system
    • Coordinate and action against daily communications from Construction Managers:
      • Vendor "No-shows"
      • Incomplete Vendor tasks
      • Failed inspections

Coordinate daily communications from our Vendors/Trade Contractors

  • Job not ready
  • Crew not available or running late
  • Vehicle breakdown
  • Backordered items

Communicate any changes to schedules that affect tasks to be performed within 24 hours via email or phone call to Vendors/Trade Contractors to ensure they do not miss "last-minute" changes to schedules

Ensure each home schedule is accurate at all times by:

  • Processing all updates timely (same day)
  • Communicating daily with each Construction Manager
  • Conducting monthly field audits to check accuracy
  • "Scrubbing" schedules in the field with each Construction Manager periodically
  • Ensure each home has a confirmed closed date in the system at the time the task "Set Close Date" occurs and report that date to the Backlog Coordinator

Run designated reports:

  • Track cycle times for each territory and Construction Manager monthly
  • Report delays related to key stages in the build cycle weekly
  • Report delays related to specific Vendors weekly
  • Track/Report "dry runs" by Vendor/Trade Contractor to identify Construction Managers who have jobs that are not ready for scheduled tasks 

Identify ways to improve our scheduling and reduce our build times:

  • Report "capacity" issues with any Vendor/Trade Contractor as they occur
  • Report any opportunity to reduce task durations as you see the Vendors/Trade Contractors continually complete their tasks early
  • Report any scheduling sequence issues that require a change to the schedule template
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing systems and process improvements that optimize all phases of the production process; be actively involved in the development and implementation of long-term quality improvement plans.
  • Ensure that the team works in accordance with the approved company operating policies, procedures, practices and methods.

Train Construction Managers and Vendors/Trade Contractors on how to use our electronic scheduling system effectively

  • New hires
  • New Vendors/Trade Contractors
  • "Refresher" Training

Job Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years New Home Construction Centralized Scheduling experience preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and other computer software
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to work in fast-pace environment, possesses a high sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written)
  • Ability to manage others successfully
