The purpose is to provide exceptional service to vendors and team members through accurate and timely purchase orders with Ameritex Homes. Demonstrate strong analytical ability and aptitude for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting pricing data in residential construction.

Tasks

  • Creates job start purchase orders and variance purchase orders for residential construction 
  • Bids new plans and plan revisions
  • Assists with quarterly rebate tracking
  • Maintains master trade partners list
  • Enters pricing and unit quantity data into the purchase order system
  • Maintains data in the purchase order system
  • Meets and engages with vendors in order to present and explain pricing, products, and services
  • Tracks and expedites orders and request as needed, keeping all internal and external customers informed of any material delays or problems
  • Clearly communicates the appropriate details with all affected groups and coordinate follow-up plans
  • Ensures cost control measures
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, sub-contractors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
  • Supports Purchasing Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Abilities

  • Basic working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures
  • Must have basic knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • IHMS/Mark Systems experience preferred 

Skills and Abilities

  • Extremely well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Attention to detail and persistence in follow-up
  • Basic computer skills

Education & Experience

  • High school Diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience in purchasing: Home Building preferred

Physical Requirements/Environment

  • Position requires sitting, walking, and occasionally standing
  • Noise level for office environment is quiet to moderate
